Green Wood
This page is dedicated to the Folk Music Scene. Green Wood were formed in 2008 and first appeared on Chorley FM that year. The original duo released an album called ''The Manchester Angel'' which was previewed on Chorley FM on January 18th 2011. The founder members were Jamie Mulgrew on Vocals, Tin Whistle, Flute, Guitar and Bodhran and Peter M. Adamson on Vocals, Harmony vocals and Guitars and Harmonica. The duo played at various venues in the North West including Blackpool North Pier, Salford City Radio, The Irish Centre, Bacup Little Theatre and Salford Cornerstones, and finished live performances at Manchester Cornerstones in October 2009. Jamie left the band in 2011 due to work commitments and relocation so the second version is planned for 2011 featuring Steve Hyde on Mandolin, Mandola, Concertina, accordian etc. Work is underway recording a new album with several tracks already completed. As a sampler of the new Green Wood sound have a listen to Popeye and Pugwash on you tube.
The new Green Wood will be appearing on Chorley FM on Feb 14th 2012 on the James Blatchley Folk show at 8.00pm. After much deliberation it was decided to rename the new outfit 'Waterdale' to distinguish the new sound from the original.
